Book Projects Update

I am a busy beaver. My mind is awhirl with work! Here’s the shortlist.

1. The Secret World Chronicle has just gone live with Book Two. Luckily we wrote a ton before pulling the trigger, so there won’t be last minute rushes to get work done.

2. The Inspector will come out in March of 2008. That means I have to add about 10,000 words at least and do a round of edits.

3. The Bloodbaths launches, which means that I have to both promote the book and work on the sequel, The Quartz Odalisque.

4. I am going to repurpose my zombie graphic novel, Locust Night, into a prose novel.  It is already 20,000 words of dialog and direction, so I presume fleshing it out won’t be too difficult. As I wrote it, I was mentally filling in those blanks anyway.

5. National Novel Writing Month is coming up. The idea is that participants write entire, 50,000 word books from scratch, rather than finish another book or project. Last year I worked on Ghost Month, a pirate/telharmonium/invisible men novel, but didn’t finish. This year… I am tempted to drop all my projects and work on a fresh idea for four weeks. The worst that could happen is to have another unfinished book waiting for attention.

6. Commie Cowgirl’s post-apocalyptic epic, working title The Frozen Forest, is 14,000 words and growing rapidly. Every western movie I watch inspires me to work on this book.

7. I need to write a story for the One Step Beyond anthology by Subatomic Books.

8. Oh! And that book of rock and roll humor under my rock and roll pseudonym, Marc MacLean.

Looks like I quit my job at just the right time.
